Helping Hands

The Church of the Incarnation is proud of the outreach ministry conducted by the Helping Hands Ministry. Several times a year, a second collection is taken during Sunday service and funds are used to help the less fortunate in our community. Based on the circumstance, we strive to accommodate a specific need through the generous giving of others. Local residents have been assisted on an emergency basis with food, utility bills, and emergency shelter. Additionally, the Helping Hands Ministry assist with the distribution of thanksgiving baskets and gifts during the Christmas season.

Members of this ministry reach out to the community on numerous occasions to be a beacon of light to the disadvantaged and the truly needy among us.

Historic Hampton House Community Trust, Inc.

For the last several years, Church of the Incarnation has partnered with the Historic Hampton House Community Trust, Inc. a non-profit organization.  The Trust has holds a major fundraiser each year to support the re-opening and sustainability of the Hampton House.  The Hampton House was a motel that was originally opened in the Brownsville community in 1953, primarily designed to house black entertainers and activists, who could not stay in white hotels because of segregation. Thanks to funding primarily from Miami-Dade County, the old building was rescued from destruction, was renovated and re-opened partially as a museum in January 2015.
